Caribbean Islands Wedding and Honeymoon Planning

All islanders welcome honeymooners, but not all have laws that make it possible for non-residents easily and conveniently to be married there.

If you have your heart set on a particular island, check out its legal requirements (look for the Getting Married link on most GTCV island homepages).

It may be more practical to have a religious ceremony at home, followed by a civil one in the tropics. Much of it is determined by the time you have.

Some islands want a lengthy residence (6 months!). Others will marry you as soon as you fill out the paperwork.

Or you may wonder if it isn't easier to take a cruise honeymoon and be married at sea?

This section isn't to rehash the legal requirements described with the individual islands. Instead, it's to show you some of the possibilities.

A Maya wedding in Mexico At an old hacienda near Merida.

Aruba wedding packages at the Bucuti Beach Resort. Also, Aruba's marriage requirements.

Cozumel Weddings: Special packages for 2005. Also, Cozumel's marriage requirements.

On St. Croix, the Hotel Caravalle has made underwater weddings a specialty for years. Also, the marriage requirements in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

In Turks & Caicos, enjoy special honeymoon spa packages at the Ocean Club.

Weddings at Sea It's not the way TV and movies show it.

To get married on a cruise, compare cruise line prices. Everything is available for easy comparison.
