Spring/Blue Copper Trails

Length: 3km for both trails. Time: 1 hour. Difficulty: 2. Trailhead: Located about 4.5-miles from the village of Roxborough on the way to the park recreation center on the Parlatuvier Road .

The Spring Trail starts near a water pipe where the clean spring water comes gushing out. After about 20 minutes, the Spring Trail connects with the mile-long Blue Copper Trail, named after the very tough and hard wood known as blue copper.

The Spring Trail may be the best bird walk in the entire reserve: common are yellow-legged thrush, hummingbirds, rufus-tail jacamar, colored trogans and more.

Considerable nesting activity occurs on this trail, more than you'll probably see on the Gilpin Trail. The forest is not as thick because of some selective cutting.

Sevrette Trail

Length: 0.5km. Time: 15 minutes. Difficulty: 1. Trailhead: Near the park ' s interpretive center.

This short 0.5km. trail is designed primarily as an educational trail for visiting school children, with interpretive/name signs for the different flora.
