Sonesta Resort: Discovery at Marigot Bay

The hotel has 124 luxury rooms and suites, all with balconies overlooking Marigot Bay.

The Rooms

Bedrooms and suites feature dark wood furniture, white walls and slate-tiled bathrooms.  Kitchens in the suites are furnished with state-of-the-art Italian appliances and spacious dining areas overlook Marigot Bay.

This is a rendering of a typical room

Bedrooms have king-size bedding, with a limited number of twin rooms that offer two extra-size single beds, which together form a king size.

Every room features the following: WIFI and Ethernet (high-speed internet access); cable TV and music systems; coffee and tea facilities; AC in all bedrooms; bathrooms with hairdryers and task lighting

Restaurants and Bars

The main restaurant is the Boudreau Restaurant, named after Captain Walter Boudreau, the schooner captain who built Marigot Bay's first hotel 50 years ago. Outfitted with Boudreau memorabilia and historical pictures, it is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The Rainforest Hideaway is situated on its own dock out over the water. It is a fine-dining fusion restaurant and champagne bar.

The outdoor Coffee Dock is a European-style coffee shop that also serves breakfast and all-day pizzas and sandwiches.

The Hurricane Hole Bar is a famous watering hole that retains all the original harbor lights, barrels and signage.

The Pink Snail is a cocktail bar themed around the original Dr. Doolittle movie, a musical starring Rex Harrison filmed at Marigot Bay in the 1960s. (The Eddie Murphy comedies have no connection with the island.)

The Doubloon marina bar and restaurant offers burgers and pizzas, while The Bakery is both an ice cream parlor and patisserie.

The Lapli Spa

Lapli means both "rain" and "blessings" in the Creole language.  Each treatment room has its own private deck with an open-air shower.  Lapli also features a Zen garden, with ofuru wooden soaking tubs and massage cabanas.

Treatments use a mix of luxury, all-natural products with local treatments created by Caribbean herbalists.  These make extensive use of aloe vera, hibiscus, cactus, sea moss, banana products and other locally-grown fruit and herbs
