The
national festival
called Junkanoo is a kaleidoscope of color and sound. Cowbells, goat skin
drums, whistles and an array of brass instruments create the riotous
musical sound. The brilliantly colored costumes attract most
of the attention.
It
wasn't until the 1960s that women participated
in Junkanoo. Better late than never!
