A big departure from the rest

Oceania Cruises is a small upscale line appeals to those who never want to dress up and who don't want to have to dine at a specified time every evening at the same table with the same people.

That doesn't mean their dining experience is second class. I'd rank it among the best I've ever encountered.

The dress code is resort or country club casual during the day. For evening dining, elegant casual resort wear is suggested.

That means the normal attire for a man is a polo shirt and slacks for men. Never, ever a tie.

A few prohibitions: "We request that jeans, shorts, t-shirts or tennis shoes not be worn at dinner."

Now, this is a cruise vacation.
