St. Kitts plans to construct a second cruise pier at Port Zante and add new stores to the Pier's existing collection of shops.

Construction on the new pier is expected to be completed by September 2005. Upon completion, the pier will measure 1,434 feet in length and boast sufficient draught, or depth, to accommodate any of today's largest ships.

The new pier will position St. Kitts to accommodate as many as  4 megaships or higher combinations of smaller vessels between the two Port Zante piers.

In addition, agreements have been signed to further enhance the offerings of Port Zante with the establishment of Boolchand's, Kay Jewelers and other top quality stores there.

Cruise lines that currently include St. Kitts as a port of call include Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Norwegian Cruise Line, P&O Princess Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Holland America, Radisson Seven Seas Cruises, Oceania Cruises, Orient Lines, Costa Cruises, Club Med Cruises, Cunard, Silversea Cruises, Sun Cruises, Sea Dream Cruises, Sea Cloud Cruises and Star Clippers.
