This is a 17th-century signal station as well as a garrison for soldiers. The 10-foot tall white limestone lion standing proud at Gun Hill commemorates British strength of centuries past.

Its inscription translates, "He shall have dominion from sea to sea and from the rivers unto the end of the world."

This commands a stunning view of the entire southern half of the island, best viewed in late afternoon.

Soldiers were once sent here to convalesce. A perfect spot for it.
