Garden of the Groves

The 12-acre Garden of the Groves, one of the Caribbean's finest botanical gardens.

It is also one of the most popular wedding locations on Grand Bahama.

Under management of Miami's Parrot Jungle, Garden of the Groves contains more than 10,000 varieties of flowers, shrubs and trees.

The garden features both native flora and exotic species imported from all over the world. It also houses a series of small man-made waterfalls and an old-fashioned chapel.

Most visitors never realize the Garden of the Groves was created by lumberman Wallace Groves, the developer of Grand Bahama Island in the 1950s.

Open weekdays from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For information: (242) 373-5668. Website: Garden of the Groves. Unfortunately, the park has been damaged by storms and is under renovation. Their website has the latest info.
